Q. I get an error when the program loads. What is wrong?

Answer:
Most likely, you are missing the Free QuickTime™ Plug-in or you have an old version of the free program. QuickTime™ is a free program that allows you to explore the sites with your own virtual camera and it is relatively easy to install. The FREE software is included on your CDROM. To install it follow the steps below. If this does not correct the problem, then please email us at support@fourchambers.org.

1. Exit the 360 Degrees program.
Double-click on "My Computer"
3. Right-click on the CD-ROM icon titled "360 Degrees" and select "Explore"
4. Locate and open the folder called InstallQuicktime
5. Double-click on the installer called QuickTimeInstaller.exe
6. Follow the steps from there...there is no registration or serial number required...you can bypass that step without entering info.
7. When finished, restart the 360 program (easiest is to reinsert the CDROM into the drive and wait a few seconds).

Q: The program doesn't fit on the screen. What is wrong?

Answer: This program requires a minimum screen resolution of 1024x768 (XGA Resolution). If the program does not display properly, you may need to change your display or monitor settings in the "Control Panels" on your computer.

Q: It takes a long time for each page to show up. What is wrong?

Answer: The program is optimized to run the best on a Pentium IV (or equivalent) or G4 processor with at least 256 MB of RAM. If you have an older computer, or less than 256 MB of RAM, the program may run more slowly. To increase the speed of the program, you may choose to do any of the following:

1. Copy the contents of the CDROM to your hard drive and then
start the program from there.
2. Quit the program and exit any other programs that are currently
running. Then restart the program.

Q: I get a memory error and/or I see a strange icon in the camera view window. What is wrong?

Answer: Displaying the 360 degree views uses a large amount of memory (RAM) on your computer. Depending on your system and configuration, you may experience an error due to a lack of available memory needed to display the views in the camera window. To fix this problem, you can simply quit and restart the program.

Q: What is QuickTime™ and how do I install it?

Answer: QuickTime™ is a free program that allows you to explore the sites with your own virtual camera. To install the version of QuickTime™ needed, you’ll need to exit this program and double-click on the QuickTimeInstaller included on the CDROM. For more information about QuickTime™ you can visit the Apple website at: http://www.apple.com/quicktime/

1. Exit the 360 Degrees program.
Double-click on "My Computer"
3. Right-click on the CD-ROM icon titled "360 Degrees" and select "Explore"
4. Locate and open the folder called InstallQuicktime
5. Double-click on the installer called QuickTimeInstaller.exe
6. Follow the steps from there...there is no registration or serial number required...you can bypass that step without entering info.
7. When finished, restart the 360 program (easiest is to reinsert the CDROM into the drive and wait a few seconds).

Q. The camera doesn't autopan, pan, or zoom when I click the link. What is wrong?

Answer: We apologize on behalf of Apple for this problem. Yes, there is a known issue with Windows 64-bit systems and the Quicktime plugin which our programs use. Fortunately, the Quicktime problem is only related to Windows 64-bit systems. However, it is a very widespread problem and Apple has been very slow to respond to it or give any information about when they intend to correct the issue.

We are hoping that Apple's next Quicktime release will correct the issue and in the meantime, the following workaround will provide a tempoary fix to the issue. We also would be happy to send you the new version when we have that complete in about 9-12 months. The new version would include some new content and be free from the Quicktime plugin requirement.

Here are the directions for the temporary fix...

Step 1: Copy the entire contents of the CDROM onto your desktop.

  • Locate the CDROM icon under "My Computer" or "Computer".
  • Right click on the CDROM icon, then select copy.
  • Right-click on your desktop, then select paste.

Step 2: Change the compatibility mode.

  • Open the folder you just created on the desktop and locate the file called 360Degrees.exe
  • Right click on the file, then select Properties.
  • Select on the Compatibility tab at the top.
  • Click the checkbox and select "Windows XP" as the option.
  • Hit Apply.

Step 3: Run the program.

  • Run the program by double-clicking 360Degrees.exe
Please let us know if you have any problems with the above solution. If you would like to receive the latest update to our program when it becomes available, please send us an email at support@fourchambers.org or signup to our mailing list on the Downloads Page where we notify subscribers whenever there is a new version of a product out.
